Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 July 2026
These terms apply when you use the Drft app or website, whether you're renting gear or listing a rental business. By using Drft you agree to them.
What Drft is
Drft is a marketplace. The rental itself is a deal between you and the rental business — we connect the two of you, handle the booking and payment flow, and take a commission from the business. We don't own the gear and we're not a party to the rental.
Bookings and payment
- When you book, your payment is authorized but not charged. The charge only goes through when the business accepts the booking.
- If the business doesn't accept, the authorization is released and you pay nothing.
- Repeat-renter discounts are applied automatically at booking time and shown before you confirm.
- Each booking has a pickup code. Keep it — the business uses it to hand over the gear.
If you run a rental business
- What you post (gear, prices, availability) is shown to renters exactly as you post it — keep it accurate.
- You're responsible for the gear you rent out being safe and fit for use, and for complying with local rules for your activity.
- Drft charges a commission on completed rentals; the rate is shown in your dashboard.
Safety
Watersports carry real risk. You're responsible for judging your own ability, the conditions, and the gear before you go out. Businesses are responsible for providing safe, well-maintained equipment and appropriate safety guidance. Drft does not supervise rentals.
Disputes
If something goes wrong with a booking — a charge, a no-show, faulty gear — contact us at hello@drfthire.com with your booking code. Disputes are prioritized over other messages, and we may refund, re-charge, or adjust a booking after reviewing both sides.
Fair use
Don't use Drft to mislead people, list gear you don't have, abuse other users, or interfere with the service. We can suspend accounts that do.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Drft isn't liable for losses arising from the rental itself — including injury, damage, or gear quality — which are matters between you and the rental business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll note it in the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Drft after that means you accept the updated terms.
