Privacy Policy

Drft is a marketplace app that connects people who want to rent watersports gear with local rental businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and a password when you create an account (renter or business). Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and are never visible to us.
- Location. Your approximate location while you use the app, so the map can show gear near you and your distance to it. Location is used live and is not tracked in the background.
- Booking history. The bookings you make or receive — gear type, time slot, price, and the business or renter on the other side.
- Business details. If you list a business: its name, address, map position, photos, prices, and availability, which are shown publicly in the app.
- Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never touches our servers.
What we use it for
- Showing you gear near you and letting you book it.
- Letting businesses manage their listings and see their sales.
- Working out repeat-renter rewards (we count your completed rentals per business).
- Resolving disputes between renters and businesses.
- Keeping the service secure and preventing fraud.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information to anyone.
- We don't use your data for third-party advertising.
- We don't track your location when you're not using the app.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the app: Amazon Web Services (hosting, accounts, and data storage) and Stripe (payments). A business you book with sees your booking details and the email on your account so they can fulfil the rental — nothing else.
How long we keep it
Account and booking data is kept while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except records we're legally required to keep (like payment records).
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@drfthire.com from your account email address and we'll handle it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll note it in the app and update the date at the top of this page.
